Khaberni -After a long struggle with her social media page manager, artist Sherine Abdel Wahab has managed to fully regain control of all her official social media accounts, following a reconciliation agreement with her former page manager that ended a legal crisis that lasted for months.
The handover process of the pages, passwords, and account data was made in an official report, attended by Sherine's lawyer, Yasser Qantoush, at the Sheikh Zayed Prosecution Office, where he received all the data of her pages on sites "X" (formerly Twitter), "TikTok", "YouTube", "Telegram", "WhatsApp channel", which are the only approved platforms for publishing news about Sherine and her artistic works.
The crisis began when Sherine previously filed an official complaint to the Basateen police station, accusing her page manager of hijacking the passwords for her digital accounts and financially extorting her for their return, according to the complaint filed by her lawyer.
In response, the former page manager filed a counter-complaint at the Sheikh Zayed police station, accusing Sherine of insult and defamation, alleging that he was subjected to poor treatment and direct threats from her, which prompted him to resort to the law to protect his rights.
The competent prosecution in Sheikh Zayed City had issued, last May, an order to summon Sherine Abdel Wahab to hear her statements in the complaint filed against her, but she failed to attend, necessitating the issuance of a second summons to compel her attendance.
Security forces recorded two reports of the incidents and began the necessary investigations, forming a team to research the circumstances and summon the concerned parties to verify the validity of the claims and determine legal responsibilities.
After a series of legal developments and mutual procedures, the settlement between the two parties resulted in the end of the dispute, enabling Sherine to fully recover her accounts, marking a new beginning in her relationship with her digital audience after a period of disconnection and controversy.
