Khaberni -A global study conducted through the freelance platform "Upwork" showed that artificial intelligence might increase the workload and lead to stress, rather than alleviating it.
Despite 96% of executive leaders believing that artificial intelligence is the optimal solution to boost productivity, 77% of employees who use these tools acknowledge that they have led to increased burden and exhaustion.
Interestingly, only 25% of companies provide training on artificial intelligence, while merely 13% have clear strategies for its implementation. Furthermore, 47% of employees admit that they do not even understand how these tools are supposed to enhance their productivity.
According to the report, the overall picture at work shows that 71% of full-time employees feel exhausted, and 65% of them are struggling to keep up with increasing demands from employers. Even leadership cannot deny this, with 81% of senior officials acknowledging that work pressure on employees has increased over the past year.
The issue is not just limited to stress, as one-third of full-time employees report considering resignation within the next six months, due to accumulated fatigue and exhaustion.
The survey included 2,500 participants from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, highlighting a significant gap between the optimistic expectations of leadership and the actual reality experienced by employees due to the rapid and unstructured implementation of artificial intelligence.
