Khaberni -In a strange incident that garnered widespread interaction, a 54-year-old Japanese man sold all his possessions, including a Ferrari, to fund a shelter for stray dogs in gratitude to his pet dog who saved him from suicide.

Hiroataka Saito owned a major company, but his life turned into a disaster 12 years ago when he faced severe financial difficulties that led him to consider suicide.

When he attempted to leave his house, his dog stood in front of the door and prevented him from leaving by clinging forcefully to his clothes, to the extent that it made him change his mind about suicide.

According to the "South China" newspaper, the dog's actions were the sole reason Saito refrained from suicide. Afterward, he decided to dedicate his life to saving stray dogs, especially those that try to "bite" others. The Japanese man says, "When I realized a dog saved me, I believed what I could do was to save dogs for the rest of my life," adding, "I will spend all my money on dogs, I want to tell them that I love them."

The OneSfery shelter now houses 40 dogs and 8 cats, and Saito is seeking public donations in hopes of expanding the shelter to accommodate about 300 dogs by 2028. Saito says, "I am now in a better situation than ever, I am very fortunate to have realized the importance of protecting dogs."

The story has had a wide-ranging impact on the internet, and someone commented, "Dogs have emotions like humans, they deserve our respect and love, I salute Mr. Saito." Meanwhile, another offered full assistance for the growth of the institution to include a larger number of dogs.
