Initiating Saudi Architectural Models in 3 Cities Across the Kingdom

Khaberni -The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started applying "Saudi Architecture" models to new residential villas in the cities of Abha, Al-Ahsa, and Taif, through a set of guidelines and architectural requirements that reflect the authentic local character of each region.

The implementation follows the launch of the "Saudi Architecture Map" by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in March, which includes 19 architectural styles inspired by the cultural and geographical characteristics of the kingdom, as reported by the local "Al-Watan" newspaper today, Sunday.

This step aims to enhance quality of life, and develop the urban landscape, in alignment with the targets of "Saudi Vision 2030".

Saudi architecture is a comprehensive urban concept that balances tradition and modernity, with design directives that enhance local identity and contribute to creating a contemporary urban environment rooted in national heritage.

The architectural styles adopted in the map include: Najdi architecture, Hijazi, architecture of Medina, the Sarawat Mountains, the Eastern Coast, the highlands of Abha, the oases of Al-Ahsa, Qatif, architecture of Najran, and other styles that represent the climatic, geographical, and cultural diversity in the regions of the kingdom.

This step aims to guide the design and development processes of villas and public buildings towards design solutions consistent with the local character, and contribute to enriching the visual identity of modern Saudi cities.
