Khaberni -In the harshest criticism since the beginning of the war on Gaza, the military analyst at the Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" Ron Ben-Yishai described Benjamin Netanyahu's government as a "crazy government" leading Israel towards "strange, harmful, and dangerous directions," calling for its overthrow through popular action and a widespread economic strike, warning of "irreversible damage".

The military analyst emphasized that the problem is not only with Netanyahu but with all the members of the government who are "afflicted with thought distortion and eclipse in logic". He confirmed that the political leadership, despite achieving most of its military goals in the Gaza Strip, according to him, refuses to acknowledge the victory and seeks additional battles that are pointless.

The military analyst added, "I am only afraid of them," emphasizing the state of anxiety he feels from the current government's approach, considering that continuing the war in this manner "serves only illusions".

Ben Yishai accused the government of being preoccupied with "an attempt at a judicial coup" instead of focusing on security files, which "increased division and created an atmosphere of hatred". He stated that "a sane government does not encourage a judicial coup amid a war on 7 fronts".

Ben Yishai highlighted what he called "the great paradox", as the government promotes a law that exempts about 80,000 Haredi young men from military service, even motivating them not to engage in it through social and economic benefits, while "the Israeli army pleads to add 10,000 additional soldiers to maintain security achievements and prevent deterioration into a new war in the short term".

He said that a sane government "would not even think of passing such a law that tears apart the social fabric and destroys what he called the idea of a Jewish and democratic state", where senior army officers, in closed statements, expressed "their fear of losing the motivation among soldiers who feel discrimination and grievance".

"Human city"
The military analyst devoted a large part of his article to criticize the project of building what is called the "human city" that Netanyahu -indicted by the International Criminal Court for committing war crimes in Gaza- and Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich aim to establish in the southern area of the Gaza Strip between the newly created Morag axis and the Philadelphia corridor that separates the Gaza Strip from Egypt, in order to house hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who will be forced to migrate from the north and south of the Strip.

Although Ben Yishai tried to market the occupation's claims that this city is not a concentration or extermination camp, he nonetheless criticized it sharply from the angle that it "will turn into a massive refugee camp, which Israel will be forced to spend billions of dollars on building, including infrastructure for water, electricity, sanitation, and hospitals needed by the vast numbers of Palestinians that could reach a million in the end."

He questioned, saying: "After all the time and resources that will be invested in building these refugee camps, it is not clear what the military purpose of them is, and what Israeli interest this human city will serve."

The analyst added that the government believes "that cramming the Palestinians near the border with Egypt will bring closer the idea of their migration out of Gaza. But this is a complete illusion, as no Western country is prepared to absorb tens or hundreds of thousands of refugees from Gaza."

He said that even if half the population of Gaza were willing to migrate, they would only accept migration to Western countries where their conditions may improve, not to African or Asian countries where their conditions may worsen.

He also rejected the idea that establishing a closed city in the southern part of the Strip will lead to separating the residents from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), describing it as "completely detached from reality".

The analyst cited previous experiences saying: "As happened in the humanitarian area in Mawasi in Khan Yunis and other areas of Gaza, isolated Hamas members with their families will move to the human city and will engage in street battles with rebellious tribes that will also come to the city to receive food aid", according to his claim.

He also mentioned what is called "security banks" that the Shin Bet seeks to establish to liquidate members of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad among the refugees proved previously ineffective, saying: "When residents of the northern Strip moved to Mawasi, among them were members of Hamas, and when later allowed to return, they quickly returned to their positions".

Dangerous illusion
Ben Yishai saw that Netanyahu's insistence on continuing the war was because he does not want to acknowledge that Israel has already nearly achieved its military victory, according to his claim, but seeks to achieve a sweeping victory represented in the complete eradication of Hamas, which he described as a "dangerous illusion".

He considered that Netanyahu "does not want to acknowledge that Israel won the war on almost all fronts, except Yemen", according to his claim, and said that "even in Gaza, there remains very little that can be wrested from Hamas through military operations", warning that "the cost and benefit of achieving a complete military victory may make such a victory very costly", and he said sarcastically "another victory like this and we are lost".

He affirmed that "every war must have a last political station", whether in Gaza or Lebanon or Syria or Iran "although it may take longer there".

He called for "the return of all prisoners" as a first step, warning that their remaining in the hands of Hamas "will render the army incapable of effectively ending military operations", stressing that their release alone is sufficient to end the internal poisonous debate that rips apart Israeli society and sows hatred in it, according to his expression.

Palestinian Authority
Ben Yishai also called for involving the Palestinian Authority in the arrangements for "the day after" in Gaza, stressing that Netanyahu and Smotrich must allow the Palestinian Authority to be part of the day after in the Gaza Strip, otherwise they will have to "choose between turning Gaza into another Somalia or an Israeli military government that requires resources and mental strength we do not possess".

He emphasized that Israel must stick to two principles: the first being "that it be solely responsible for its security and the security of its citizens", and the second that "the Israeli army be able to maintain a (defensive) forward presence in the Strip".

He concluded his article saying "We have no choice, we will remove a malignant government from the earth and end the journey of madness, before this government causes more serious and irreversible damage to our security and social fabric".

The analyst called for widespread popular action, stressing "If this government does not come to a rational path that serves us, the citizens, within a few weeks, then there will be no choice but to join the efforts aimed at overthrowing it through an indefinite general strike and massive street protests".
