Khaberni -The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the decision by the government of the Syrian Arab Republic to cease fire in the As-Suwayda governorate in southern Syria.
The ministry emphasized in a statement published on Tuesday the necessity of calming the situation and restraining themselves, which ensures the saving of Syrian blood and the protection of civilians, application of the law, and the practice of Syrian state sovereignty over all its territories.
The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, affirmed Jordan's support for the Syrian government in its efforts to rebuild Syria based on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and preserving the safety, rights, and security of all Syrians.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced a ceasefire in As-Suwayda hours after the army entered the southern city with the intention of putting an end to clashes that caused dozens of fatalities, coinciding with renewed Israeli raids on the area and an announcement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordering attacks on Syrian forces in As-Suwayda.
