Jordan Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of a Quality Management System in the Ministry of Transport

Khaberni -The Ministry of Transport and the Jordanian Academy of Maritime Studies signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at exchanging scientific and practical expertise to establish a quality management system in the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with the best adopted standard specifications.

The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Transport, Engineer Wissam Al-Tahatmoni, and the President of the Academy, Dr. Mustafa Masad, in the presence of the Ministry's Secretary-General Fares Abu Diya, the Director of the Quality Unit at the Ministry, Dr. Hanan Al-Turk, and in the academy Dr. Maan Masad, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.

Minister Al-Tahatmoni emphasized the importance of quality and cooperation with the academy in this vital field, pointing out that this step contributes to the development of work and the improvement of performance within the ministry. She praised the prominent role played by the academy, as it is the first maritime education institution in Jordan, known for its good reputation both regionally and internationally, due to the tangible achievements it has made.

She added that the academy represents a pride for Jordan, and matches international academies in terms of its academic level, thanks to its management and professional staff. The advanced education it provides, the discipline of its graduates, and their professionalism are all factors that enhance its status and strongly promote its name in maritime circles.
For his part, Dr. Mustafa Masad expressed the academy's pride in signing the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Transport, affirming that the academy is continuing its efforts to remain among the international academies. He noted that the academy’s graduates, of various nationalities, hold Jordanian degrees and occupy leadership positions in the maritime sector, whether in ship management or maritime institutions in a number of Arab countries.
Dr. Masad confirmed that the academy will remain a fundamental supporter of the Ministry of Transport, thanking the minister for her continuous support and interest in the maritime transport sector. He mentioned that the educational staff is carefully trained before performing their duties, adding that the academy currently hosts students from more than 60 nationalities holding Jordanian degrees.

The memorandum of understanding includes enhancing cooperation frameworks and exchanging expertise between the two sides with the aim of establishing a quality management system in the Ministry of Transport, aligning with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001-2015.
