Khaberni -Real Madrid is preparing to organize an official farewell ceremony for its veteran player Lucas Vazquez, after his contract with the team ends following his last participation in the 2025 Club World Cup.
At 34 years old, Lucas Vazquez experienced his last moments in the "Merengue" jersey during the world championship, thereby closing a long-lasting page within the hallways of the "Royal" club.
Even though both coach Carlo Ancelotti and his teammate Luka Modric received official farewells, Vazquez has not enjoyed one until now, which the club's management aims to rectify this week.
According to Cadena COPE radio, the ceremony will be held next Thursday, in honor of the player's career who joined Real Madrid in 2007 through the youth categories, before moving to Espanyol in 2014, and returning again in the summer of 2015 to become a consistent element in the first team.
Throughout his tenure with the team, Vazquez played multiple roles, starting as an attacking winger before transitioning in recent years to a right-back, exemplifying a disciplined and committed player. During his career, he was crowned with 23 titles, notably including 5 UEFA Champions League championships.
