A Saudi Medical Team Performs a Delicate Surgery on a Sudanese Child

Khaberni -A specialized Saudi medical team from the Prince Sultan Center for Treating Diseases and Heart Surgery of the Armed Forces carried out a delicate surgical operation on a one-year and three-month-old Sudanese girl, who suffered from a rare and dangerous heart condition.
The team, which carried out the mission under the directive of the Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, dealt with the case of the girl “Jouri”, which is among the rarest cases recorded globally. It involved severe congenital malformations, including the absence of the vein and pulmonary arteries, with multiple arterial feeders and holes in the heart.
The operation was performed in one stage, including three precise interventions, which is a unique medical achievement reflecting the team's efficiency and is recorded among the rare cases in the world.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Aklabi, the leader of the medical team, confirmed that the operation was crowned with success, noting that the girl left the hospital a week after the surgical intervention in a stable health condition without any complications.

On his part, the father of the child, Ahmed Al-Sayed Ahmed, praised the Saudi humanitarian efforts and the advanced medical care his daughter received at the Prince Sultan Center for Treating Diseases and Heart Surgery of the Armed Forces.
