Khaberni -The Egyptian Football Association has established a new committee for professional players affairs, chaired by Hani Abou-Rida, the president of the association, aimed at sourcing players with dual nationality and attracting them to represent the Egyptian national teams.
The media center of the Egyptian Football Association announced today, Monday, that the board of directors decided to form a committee for overseas professional players chaired by Abou-Rida, the president of the association, and added: The new committee has been tasked with regularly searching for professional players with dual nationality, periodically monitoring professional players, creating a detailed database about them, officially communicating with them, convincing them of the Egyptian project, and recruiting them to represent the Egyptian national teams.
European football has known several players of Egyptian origins who have represented other national teams, such as Rami Shaaban, former Arsenal and Sweden national team goalkeeper, as well as Stephan El Shaarawy, a player for Roma and the Italian national team, in addition to Haytham Hassan, a player for Oviedo and the French youth national teams.
