Khaberni -Al Ahly officially announced the conclusion of the departure file of its Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, confirming his continuation in the team until the end of his contract that extends until 2029.
Al Ahly stated in a statement published on its website on Sunday that it has decided to keep Abu Ali after the club received several offers, notably from Al Wasl of the UAE, which began with a financial counterpart of 2.5 million dollars, then increased to 4 million, and then to 6 million dollars, including a 20 percent of the net future sale proceeds.
However, according to the statement, Al Ahly's administration considered that the compensation does not match the technical value of the Palestinian striker and there was no further communication from the UAE club after the official response from the Red Castle.
Al Ahly also received another offer from Columbus Crew of the USA, starting at 4 million dollars, then increased to 5.25 million dollars, in addition to 750 thousand dollars as additional benefits, and 10 percent of the future sale value.
The statement added "Al Ahly saw that the offer does not match the real value of the player, where the administration set the required price at 9.5 million dollars, in addition to 2.5 million dollars as benefits."
The statement clarified that the negotiations with the American club continued for a long period without resolution, prompting Al Ahly to send an official letter to Columbus Crew setting July 10 as the final deadline for a response, but the deadline expired without any response from the American side, leading Al Ahly to close the negotiation door and affirm the continuation of Wissam Abu Ali with the team.
Al Ahly confirmed that Abu Ali was fully aware of all the details of the negotiations and correspondences that took place with all parties.
Abu Ali joined Al Ahly in January 2024, coming from Sirius of Sweden with a contract extending until the summer of 2029, and has played 60 matches with the Red team in all competitions since joining, scoring 38 goals and making 10 decisive passes to his teammates.
