Khaberni -The national basketball team's technical staff announced today, Sunday, the preliminary list of players who will begin preparations for participating in the 2025 Asia Cup, set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17.
The preliminary list includes 30 players as part of a preparation plan overseen by the technical staff, in anticipation of this upcoming continental event. The players are: Ahmed Al-Duwairi, Mohammad Shaher, Ameen Abu Hawwas, Dar Tucker, Ahmed Al-Hamarsha, Fadi Ibrahim, Akef Al-Shayab, Ali Kanaan, Ashraf Al-Hindi, Fadi Karmash, Hashim Abbas, Khaled Abu Aboud, Malek Kanaan, Mahmoud Al-Hazaimeh, Youssef Abu Wazneh, Abdullah Olajuwon, Abdulrahman Olajuwon, Saifuddin Saleh, Ruhi Al-Kilani, Yazan Al-Taweel, Fares Mashrabsh, Mohammad Nasir El-Din, Hadi Al-Shami, Omar Hijazi, Hani Al-Faraj, Basel Abu Aboud, Yazeed Abu Shaheil, Yinal Abu Shaheil, Amir Eid, Michael Naffaa.
The team is technically managed by Canadian coach Roy Rana, assisted by German Henrik Rodl, Japanese Makoto Mamiya, and national coach Nihad Madi.
The technical staff also includes performance director Dr. Craig Sloat, sports psychology specialist Dr. Brian Shaw, with Zaid Sahouri as a special assistant to the technical manager, and Dr. Zaid Al-Batayneh as the video manager.
The players will participate in an intensive training program that includes domestic and international camps, along with a series of friendly matches aimed at enhancing technical and tactical cohesion before the championship begins.
The Jordan Basketball Federation confirmed its full support for the technical staff and players during the preparation phase, emphasizing the importance of this continental event in enhancing the presence of Jordanian basketball at the Asian level.
