Khaberni -The commander of the Jordanian team for firefighting on the Syrian coast, Colonel Muhannad Al-Ajarmeh, confirmed their success in preventing the spread of fires on all fronts, considering this the most important step towards controlling them.

Al-Ajarmeh, speaking on "Army FM" Sunday evening, mentioned an active fire hub in the area of Kessab surrounded by a fleet of civil defense vehicles and firefighting planes, especially from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, tasked with extinguishing it.

He clarified that all the fire sectors the Jordanian team along with their Syrian counterparts were responsible for have been completely extinguished and are being cooled down in stages, which could be completed within three days. He confirmed that the crews and machinery are present in the field around the clock.

He pointed to 71 highly competent and knowledgeable participants in forest fire extinguishing, equipped with about 20 of the most advanced tools and machinery for dealing with such incidents.

He added that the Jordanian team, during firefighting efforts, cooperated with the Syrian side in clearing mines and blind ammunition, stressing that no injuries were recorded, which constitutes a significant achievement for Jordan.

He mentioned that the Jordanian team overcame difficulties such as challenging terrain, high wind speeds, and narrow spaces, and now they have moved on to the recovery and cooling phase.
