Khaberni -The Criminal Court, chaired by Judge Muteb Al-Aradi, sentenced a citizen to 5 years in prison after convicting him of joining the terrorist organization «ISIS», which aims to undermine the basic systems of the state and spread extremist thought.

According to the verdict, the accused participated in an unlawful group known as "ISIS", which promotes extremist ideas that contradict the principles of the state and its security and stability.

The court emphasized in its verdict that the prison sentence alone is not sufficient to address the phenomenon of belonging to extremist groups, asserting the necessity for intellectual and religious rehabilitation of the accused through programs within the prison, contributing to the correction of the deviant and extremist thoughts they hold.

The court added that the objective of the punishment should not only be deterrence and punishment, but should also include enabling the convicts to reintegrate into society after the expiration of their sentence, through instilling values of tolerance and moderation in them.

This verdict comes within the framework of the ongoing judicial efforts to combat terrorism and extremist thought, and to counter everything that may threaten the security and stability of the state and society.
