Khaberni -Jordan achieved a remarkable urban accomplishment by being declared by the United Nations to include its second national report on implementing the "New Urban Agenda 2025" on its official platform, making the kingdom the first Arab country, and the fourth globally, to succeed in preparing and publishing this report.

The General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development prepared a report showcasing Jordan’s achievements from 2019 to 2024, highlighting progress in the fields of sustainable urban growth, digital transformation, quality of life improvement, and enhancing governance based on clear performance indicators, all within the kingdom’s economic modernization vision.
The report reaffirmed Jordan’s strict commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, particularly Goal 11, which is "to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable" through evidence-based urban planning that turns challenges into opportunities.

In her statement to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), the Director General of the General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development, Engineer Jumana Al-Attiyat, confirmed Jordan’s commitment to the timeline for the urban report delivery within the scheduled deadlines, in addition to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals, and cooperating with international entities in preparing urban reports.

She stated that the report was prepared over two years, with the participation of a national committee comprising various official institutions and representatives of relevant sectors, and it was endorsed by the cabinet before being submitted to the National Library and listed on the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) urban agenda platform.

Al-Attiyat indicated that the report was prepared through a comprehensive participatory approach, in dialogue sessions in cooperation with the UN-Habitat, to build capacities and exchange best practices in urban report preparation, involving experts from the public and private sectors.
She revealed a significant advancement in data collection and analysis level, as the number of indicators covered in the second national report increased to 95% coverage, compared to only 52% in the first national report previously prepared by the institution.
The report stands as a national reference document that reflects Jordan's commitment to actively contribute to the global debate on sustainable urban development, and present an Arab model to be emulated in the field of advanced urban policy preparation and implementation.
