Khaberni -Israeli estimations suggest that there is an increasing number of resistance attempts to kidnap Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip, using a new method recently adopted that has surprised the military leadership and prompted it to devise new plans for confrontation.

The Israel Hayom newspaper quoted a responsible source who said that the resistance recently adopted a working style based on sacrifices with a greater degree of boldness and close engagement with Israeli forces.

The newspaper explained that unlike previous operations that relied on short and precise actions, the Israeli army has recently been keen to maintain a continuous presence in the heart of Gaza cities with the aim of "encircling" resistance command centers.

The newspaper indicated that the Israeli forces' presence was met by a change in resistance strategy, which became apparent last week in Khan Yunis when resistance elements targeted an army vehicle and attempted to kidnap First Sergeant (Reserve) Avraham Azulai who was operating a bulldozer, before they killed him.

The newspaper mentioned that security estimations suggest that kidnapping attempts will increase and that the resistance will try to exploit the weaknesses in the deployment of the Israeli army's field forces.

It said that instructions had been issued to the Israeli military forces to remain vigilant, in conjunction with ongoing efforts to assess the situation after each resistance operation that results in injuries in order to learn operational lessons and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

However, "Israel Hayom" states that the development of different operational patterns by the resistance poses new dilemmas for army leaders.

It referred to the questions currently being raised within the army about whether to continue entering homes, as recent incidents included planting explosives in them, causing harm to soldiers, in addition to the best ways to protect armored vehicles.

Channel 12 quoted the former head of operations in the Israeli army, Israel Ziv, as saying that "guerrilla warfare in Gaza is horrific and significantly reduces our army's gains".

He considered that Israel is "deeply mired in a war with conflicting goals", adding "our army cannot achieve complete control, and Hamas exploits this with hit-and-run tactics and lightning attacks".

The spokesman warned that the war could extend for many years "under the banner of empty victory slogans without resolution".

Since the resumption of the aggression on Gaza last March/April, at least 38 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 98 injured in ambushes and sniper operations, while the toll since the beginning of the year is 50 dead and 118 injured.

Thus, the total losses of the occupying forces since the beginning of the ground invasion in late October/October 2023 amount to 444 dead and 2768 wounded according to Israeli army data, while the Palestinian resistance confirms that the occupiers' losses are much higher.
