Khaberni -The statistics of the Statistical Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council states showed that the population of the Gulf Cooperation Council states reached about 61 million by the end of last year (2024), an increase of more than 21 million compared to 2023, at a rate of 36 percent.
The center’s data indicated a rapid recovery in the population numbers in the council states from the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The population has increased by about 7.6 million since 2021, reflecting a resumption of population growth at an accelerated pace after the slowdown experienced by some countries during the pandemic.
The center mentioned that the total number of males in the Gulf Cooperation Council states was about 38.5 million, while the number of females was about 22 million, explaining that the inhabitants of the Gulf Cooperation Council states constitute 0.7 percent of the world population.
The same statistics confirmed that the gender ratio in the Gulf Cooperation Council states reached 169 males for every 100 females last year, while the gender ratio for the total world population was 101 males for every 100 females.
