Khaberni -The Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation reported today, Saturday, that the army has summoned all regular infantry and armored brigades to Gaza, in preparation for expanding the ongoing ground maneuver in the sector.
According to the corporation, all the regular brigades belonging to the infantry and armored units have been introduced into Gaza, including the paratroopers brigade, which completed its deployment in the past twenty-four hours, thus being the last formation to enter under the ground reinforcements plan.
The reports explained that the military operations are currently concentrated on two main axes: the north of the sector, where clashes continue around the Jabalia camp, and the Khan Yunis area in the south, which has witnessed weeks of fierce fighting amid army attempts to dismantle military infrastructures belonging to the "Hamas" movement.
This development comes at a time when estimates within the Hebrew political and military circles are increasing regarding the imminent execution of a large-scale military operation against what remains of the armed resistance in the sector, especially in the city of Rafah, which the entity considers the last stronghold of the "central command" of Hamas.
The occupation army has been reinforcing its troops on the outskirts of Rafah for weeks, amid international warnings of the humanitarian repercussions of any wide ground incursion.
The military movements indicate Tel Aviv's attempt to end what it describes as the "decisive stage" of the battle, amid faltering indirect negotiations regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, which take place under the auspices of Egypt and Qatar.
Pushing all the regular brigades into the field is seen as a strong indicator of the army's intent to escalate its operations, despite increasing international pressure, especially with the worsening humanitarian crisis in the sector facing catastrophic conditions.
