Khaberni -The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Samen, inspected on Saturday the progress of work on the Al-Moqar Blue Road project and the new Sports City Road project in Al-Moqar district.
The Minister of Public Works observed the progress in the road project leading to the new Sports City, which branches off from the Al-Moqar-Blue Road.
The project is part of the government's plan to implement a new international football stadium, following the directions of His Majesty King Abdullah II to support the sports sector.
The new road is about 3 kilometers long, and includes rerouting a stream, constructing culverts, and installing traffic safety elements.
Abu Samen concluded his tour by following up on the rehabilitation works of the Al-Moqar-Blue Road, which connects the capital to Al-Azraq city and from there to the borders with Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and directed the maintenance of the current pace of execution to ensure the project's completion on time. The ministry had completed rehabilitating 30 km of the road and commenced rehabilitating an additional 16 km reaching Al-Azraq triangle.
The project includes removing old asphalt layers, executing a new asphalt mix, enhancing traffic safety elements, and also includes the maintenance of the concrete bridge in the industrial area of Al-Moqar.
