Khaberni - The Cyber ​​Technologies and Operations Committee of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers held its first meeting, chaired by Jordan and with the participation of representatives of cybersecurity agencies in Arab countries, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

The attendees discussed a number of topics on the meeting’s agenda, notably the election of the vice-chairs of the committee, the creation of working groups to implement a number of joint Arab initiatives and appointing their leaders, and the discussion of the committee's work plan for the coming period, launching the Arab platform for sharing cyber threat information, and holding joint Arab cyber exercises, in addition to discussing the initiative of a cyber incident classification framework.

The Cyber Technologies and Operations Committee, which was established as per the decision of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers in its first regular session held in Riyadh in December 2024, is tasked with implementing initiatives and projects related to technical and operational aspects, exchanging expertise and experiences around technical systems and technical details to enhance cybersecurity protection, cyber warnings, and others, and preparing and proposing work plans, initiatives, and joint Arab projects.

It should be noted that the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers consists of Arab ministers responsible for cybersecurity affairs, and its statute was adopted by the decision of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level, and it operates under the auspices of the League of Arab States Council, and its competencies include drafting general policies and developing strategies and priorities that contribute to advancing joint Arab efforts in cybersecurity, considering all topics and developments in cybersecurity at security, economic, developmental, and legislative levels, as well as approving joint Arab plans in cybersecurity to implement the policies and strategies decided by the Council.
