Khabarni - The administrative governorate in the Northern Jordan Valley stopped an individual who assaulted a staff member from the Jordan Valley Authority in the Abu Seydo area while he was caught unlawfully intruding on the waters of the King Abdullah Canal.
The Governor of Irbid, Radwan Al-Atoum, stated today, Friday, that this action is part of the coordination and collaboration among various institutions aimed at overcoming the challenges of the current summer's water situation in light of the weak rainy season.
Al-Atoum confirmed the strictness in dealing with the assaults on available water quantities, including irrigation water from the King Abdullah Canal, through illegal water withdrawals aimed at securing farmers' rights to water for their agricultural lands fairly.
