According to Carol Haddad, the official responsible for transport network design at the Greater Amman Municipality, the number of fee-exempted cards allocated for the elderly and disabled on the rapid buses and Amman Bus has reached 33,390 as of Friday.

Haddad clarified in a statement that these cards have been used for more than 9 million trips since the start of operations, including 2,246,913 trips on the rapid bus, and 6,885,475 trips on the "Amman Bus".

Haddad added that the total number of public transport users in the capital during the first third of 2025 reached 7,208,228 passengers on the rapid bus, and 3,593,044 passengers on Amman Bus.

It is worth mentioning that the Rapid Bus is the first rapid transit system for the city of Amman. It is a flexible and integrated public transport system that provides fast, safe, and reliable service. It operates on high-capacity buses running on dedicated lanes offering high service levels, with frequencies up to every 3 minutes. The system also includes integrated modern stations.

The design of Amman's rapid bus system is not done in isolation. It forms part of a hierarchical, integrated public transportation network. Often, the journeys of citizens wishing to travel from their homes to their workplaces might require more than one mode of transit. Thus, alongside the rapid bus system design, a wide network of feeder modes is prepared, consisting of either regular buses or smaller vehicles. The objective of this network is to get passengers to the nearest rapid bus station as quickly as possible, thus minimizing waiting times and providing a smooth and comfortable service.
