The club affirmed that Modric is "one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and global football," outlining his illustrious career since joining the team in 2012, where he was a key player in one of the most successful eras in the club's history, securing 28 titles over 13 seasons.
The statement also noted that Modric is one of only five players in history to have won 6 UEFA Champions League titles, making him the most decorated player in the club's history, which spans nearly 123 years.
