Tell me - Media personality Basma Wahba revealed the content of a lengthy phone call she had with actor Ahmed El Sakka, which addressed recent discussions about his separation from his wife, media personality Maha El Sagheer, after a marriage that lasted about 26 years, amid widespread controversy on social media.
While presenting today's Thursday episode of her program "90 Minutes", Wahba confirmed that she had directly contacted El Sakka, and the call lasted about an hour, during which she heard a completely different story than what was being circulated, saying, "I thought I was going to severely reproach El Sakka, but what I heard from him made me reconsider".
She added, "I am not biased towards one side against the other, but what El Sakka said deserves to be presented as it is, out of respect for the truth".
Wahba explained that the Egyptian artist denied all the accusations made against him during the call, affirming that he had never verbally or physically abused Maha El Sagheer, rather pointing out that her recent personality changes were the reason for their disputes, saying, "Maha is no longer the Maha I knew".
Basma Wahba also stated that she confronted El Sakka directly saying to him, "Is it conceivable that you treat the mother of your children this way?", to which his response, according to her, was calm and confident, emphasizing his constant respect for his ex-wife and his complete rejection of any mistreatment of her, whether through statements or posts.
Wahba discussed the post circulated on El Sakka's personal account, in which he announced his separation from his wife, and conveyed that the account was not hacked, but his sister was the one who wrote and published the post and then deleted it later, a step described by El Sakka as happening without his prior knowledge, saying, "I did not write a single sentence that disrespects the mother of my children, and I could never wrong her".
Furthermore, Basma Wahba emphasized that she initially sympathized with Maha El Sagheer and was angry at El Sakka, but she saw it necessary to stop making premature judgments based on what is published on social media, adding, "I was going to attack him strongly, but it turned out that part of the picture was missing, and there are narratives unknown to the public".
The famous media personality concluded her talk by affirming that the right to reply is guaranteed for the media personality Maha El Sagheer, pointing out that the purpose of presenting these details was to convey the story she personally heard from El Sakka and not to take sides, saying, "We are not in a position of hostility, but in a position to speak the truth".
