Alkhbrany - The judicial authorities executed the death penalty against prisoner Oscar Smith in Tennessee, USA, by lethal injection on Thursday, after his conviction for the murder of his estranged wife Judith Smith and her teenage sons in 1989.
Smith, who was 75 years old, was scheduled to receive a lethal injection of pentobarbital at 10:10 AM.
Smith, aged 75, maintained his innocence, and in a recent interview conducted by the Associated Press (AP), he primarily sought to speak about his feeling that the judicial system had failed him.
Smith was convicted of murdering his wife Judith Smith, and her children Jason Burnett, 13 years old, and Chad Burnett, 16 years old, who were stabbed and shot at their home in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 1, 1989.
