Reuters - The U.S. Attorney General announced that the shooting incident, which took place in front of the Jewish Museum in Washington and resulted in the death of employees at the Israeli embassy, is being investigated as a hate crime and an act of terrorism.

According to Reuters, citing judicial documents, the suspect Elias Rodriguez, aged 31, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, in addition to charges of killing foreign officials and causing death using a firearm during a violent crime.

The American police, in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), continue to investigate a message posted online believed to be from Elias Rodriguez, the suspect in the shooting incident near the Jewish Museum in Washington, which resulted in two deaths.

According to sources informed by the New York Post, Rodriguez (31 years old) posted an anti-Israeli occupation statement online, one day before carrying out the attack, which he described as “a political protest act” in response to the war in Gaza.

The reports revealed that Rodriguez shouted "Freedom for Palestine" moments before he was arrested for opening fire, prompting security authorities to focus their investigations on a 900-word statement bearing his name, which began circulating immediately after his arrest.

The message, dated May 20, includes phrases that clearly reflect an ideological orientation, among them: "Armed action is not necessarily a military act... but a political demonstration," and added: "Those who stand against genocide have abandoned their humanity."
