Khaberni - The government communication minister and official spokesman, Mohammed Al-Momani, said that Jordan is ready to send relief aid to Gaza immediately but Israel restricts its access.

Al-Momani added, in a statement reported by the "Jordan Times" on Thursday, that 100 aid trucks in Jordan are waiting for permission to enter Gaza.

Al-Momani continued, "Jordan has always been at the forefront of providing humanitarian aid to Gaza through all available means since the beginning of the conflict, including air drops, ground convoys, and air bridges."

In response to the case of the sick children from Gaza who received medical treatment in Jordan and returned to Gaza on May 13, whose families expressed concerns about returning to Gaza as the conflict continues, Al-Momani stated: "Jordan has clearly announced since the beginning of the medical evacuation, which started in early March, that the patients would return to Gaza as soon as their medical treatment is completed, allowing Jordan to receive more patients. For instance, the return of 17 children on May 13 who had completed their treatment allowed Jordan to bring another group of sick children the next day, all of whom were suffering from cancer."

He added, "The 17 children who returned along with their family escorts were part of a group comprising 29 patients. There are still 12 patients in Jordan because they have not yet completed their treatments."

Al-Momani affirmed that the Kingdom's policy is "to support the resilience of the Palestinians in their homeland, and not to contribute in any way to their displacement."

He noted that Jordan had evacuated 114 people from Gaza, including 39 patients and 75 escorts since March.

He added that the patients "receive high-quality medical treatment in the best private and public hospitals in Jordan. Jordan is regionally recognized as a leader in medical care. For example, dozens of cancer patients from Gaza are treated at the Hussein Cancer Center, a leading institution in the region that has received international recognition for its modern facilities and quality of care."

Al-Momani stated that Israel had confiscated properties, money, phones, and food items at the Kerem Shalom crossing which were carried by Palestinians returning from Jordan to the Gaza Strip after completing their treatments.

He added that Jordan is seeking to evacuate more children from Gaza and accelerate the process, but "Israeli authorities continue to create obstacles."
