American media reported on Thursday that security guards shot a woman who attempted to breach the main gate of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters in Virginia, near the capital Washington.
The network "CBS" quoted U.S. officials confirming the incident, indicating that the authorities completely closed the headquarters gate after the shooting.
CBS mentioned from sources that "the woman was injured in the upper part of her body and was transferred to a medical facility, and it is believed that her injuries are not life-threatening."
The American media explained that the incident occurred when a driver attempted to breach the gate of the headquarters with her car, prompting security guards to intervene and shoot toward her.
This incident is the second of its kind to occur at the agency's headquarters in the past two months.
