Jordan Chamber of Commerce president, Senator Khaleel Al Hajj Tawfiq, and the president of the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Pietro Rambino, discussed various issues, foremost among them enhancing trade and investment relations between the Kingdom and Italy.
They also discussed, during the meeting which took place on the sidelines of the Arab-German Forum held in Berlin, cooperation between the two sides in the field of providing training and education for Jordanian youth, qualifying them to work with Italian companies.
Al Hajj Tawfiq stated in a statement today, Thursday, that it was agreed to hold "remote" training courses for Jordanian youth in specific specializations and sectors in the professional field through Italian companies that offer and transfer their expertise to them, granting them certificates issued by the chamber and accredited by the European Union, in coordination with the chamber.
He pointed out that the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce will work on communicating with the Italian Ministry of Education to provide 25 free scholarships for students from Jordan to study there at specialized institutes for two years, during which they will obtain recognized certificates, qualifying them to work in the Italian market, affirming Jordan's Commerce's welcome of this initiative.
Al Hajj Tawfiq explained that it was agreed that the Jordan Chamber of Commerce would be the recognized entity from the private sector in the Kingdom to receive Italian investors, company owners, and traders interested in investing or trading with Jordan, acquainting them with opportunities, incentives, legislation, and laws and providing all business-related information and facilitations.
He added, in return, the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce will serve as a platform to support Jordanian companies that wish to invest or seek trade partnerships in the Italian market, affirming that this would contribute to enhancing the trade exchanges between the two countries, particularly regarding the Kingdom’s exports.
It is noted that the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, founded in 2015, enjoys support from authorities, major professional organizations, and representatives of Italian banks, aiming to enhance Arab-Italian trade and investment relations and support economic cooperation between them.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, a member of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Hussein Shreim, and the representative of the Amman Chamber of Commerce in the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Alaa Derania.
